Students get a “sense” of building sensors at workshop
Sensors in “smart” buildings, which are already helping to keep buildings safe and comfortable by monitoring everything from temperature and humidity to air quality and motion, are set to play an increasingly larger role in the built environment.
An introductory workshop in Francis Hall helped familiarize students with the basics of sensors: how they work, simple programming to interpret sensor measurements, and more.
The workshop was led by Ashrant Aryal, assistant professor of construction science, and hosted by the Texas A&M University Construction Science Department and the Texas A&M Institute of Data Science.
