Anthony Marraro

Anthony Marraro is the Director of Continuing Education and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M University. Before joining Texas A&M in 2016, he completed a 33-year career in program and project management. His experience encompasses all aspects of design and construction including leading both HNTB design and Hill International PM/CM offices. Mr. Marraro’s project experience includes multi-use, residential, vertical, transportation, infrastructure, military, Embassy, petrochemical, fine chemical, water/wastewater, and environmental remediation projects for government, public, and private clients. He currently teaches Project Management principles, processes, and tools to both graduate and undergraduate students. His specialties include Design-Build, alternative project delivery methodologies, and project controls.

Janice Meyer

Dr. Janice Meyer is the Director of Educational Outreach for Continuing and Professional Education and PK-16 Initiatives for Public Partnership and Outreach (PPO) at Texas A&M University. She brings extensive experience in both public and higher education to PPO. Dr. Meyer has served as an Assistant Professor of Science Education at both the University of Houston – Clear Lake and Northern Arizona University. Her public school experience has been in diverse and urban settings in and around the greater Houston area. Throughout her career, Dr. Meyer has presented at numerous international conferences and consulted in schools across the United States. She has also served on several state and local advisory boards. Since joining Texas A&M in 2018, Dr. Meyer has become a key figure in helping Colleges and Departments meet their continuing education and outreach goals.

Instructors

Hugh Cronin

Hugh Cronin is a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M University. His firm, Cronin PM Group, LLC, provides program and project management as well as construction consulting services to a variety of clients. Prior to starting his company, Hugh’s experience ranged from operations and construction leadership positions at a Tier-1 university to general contractor roles for builders and developers. He retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers in 2008 where his military service included more than 21 years of construction, facilities maintenance, mine/countermine and explosives experience. Hugh’s final assignment with the Corps of Engineers was as the Construction Division Chief and Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the US Air Force Academy.

Professor Cronin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering Management, as Master of Science degree in Geological Engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree.

Phil Lewis

Dr. Phil Lewis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M University. Before joining Texas A&M in 2017, he was an Associate Professor at Oklahoma State University. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Lewis completed 14 years in the construction industry in the heavy-highway and commercial construction sectors. His primary research area is sustainable construction and he has taught courses in construction estimating, scheduling, project management, equipment management, structural principles, and sustainable transportation.

Larry McGinn

Larry McGinn is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M University. Before joining Texas A&M in 2019, he completed a 20 year career in project and construction management in oil and gas large capital expenditure industrial construction projects. His experience includes all aspects of design and construction phases for large EPC/EPCM projects of different types. Mr. McGinn’s project experience comprises large petrochemical industrial complexes and infrastructure upgrades, and upstream development for both public and private clients. He currently teaches Construction Planning and Scheduling principles and Industrial Construction courses to undergraduate students.

Steve Rodgers

Steve Rodgers is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Construction Science teaching construction law. He also serves as the International Study & Internship Coordinator for the department. From 2015 to 2020 he has arranged or directed multiple trips to the United Kingdom which allows students to study and participate in the British construction industry. Prior to coming to Texas A&M, Rodgers spent the majority of his career in the courtroom trying cases. He is a Board Certified-Civil Trial Lawyer by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Although his courtroom experience includes everything from capital murder defense to patent law, his practice for the past 25 years focused on construction, oil & gas, and insurance disputes. Steve is certified by the University of Houston Dispute Resolution Center and serves as an active mediator for complex cases.

Patrick Suermann

Dr. Patrick Suermann is an Associate Professor in the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M University. Before joining Texas A&M in 2017, he was a 20 year civil engineer officer in the United States Air Force. As a combat and stateside engineer, he built projects worldwide in support of global peacekeeping and nation building operations. Additionally, he was the Construction Division Chair at the United States Air Force Academy, teaching courses in Project Management, Leadership, Engineering, and Building Information Modeling.

Mark Whitman

Mark Whitman is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Construction Science, joining Texas A&M in 2016. In addition to his teaching activities, Mark is the Manager of Estimating for Cajun Industries’ Houston Mechanical business unit. Mark’s career spans 30 years, having worked in the Industrial, Government and Commercial construction industries for Cajun Industries, Fluor Corporation, Brown & Root, Inc., Day & Zimmerman, Embree Construction Group and other firms. While most of his career has been in the estimating discipline, he has completed roles as a project manager, cost engineer, and project engineer. Mr. Whitman’s project experience includes petro-chemical, pulp and paper, power, off-shore oil and gas structures, military facility construction and maintenance, and small commercial buildings. His government and petro-chemical experience has taken him internationally to Hungary, Afghanistan, Algeria and other countries. Mark currently teaches Introduction to Industrial Construction and the Industrial Construction Capstone courses for the Department.
