Established in 2018, the Texas A&M Higher Education Center at McAllen (HECM) provides top-tier academic programs to the Rio Grande Valley. The center supports the educational needs of its students through the same curriculum and disciplines practiced at its flagship campus in College Station. Since its arrival to the Rio Grande Valley, the Higher Education Center at McAllen has:

Construction Science at the HECM

Texas A&M construction science is now in McAllen

Texas A&M University offers the Bachelor of Science in Construction Science at the Higher Education Center at McAllen. The program is the same as the College Station campus offering. While majoring in construction science at HECM, students will receive instruction from industry experts and academic professionals. Through the construction science program, the HECM fulfills its promise to provide an enriching education that’s affordable, accessible, and advanced.

The Higher Education Center at McAllen accepts applications from domestic and international freshman and transfer students. 

All students seeking admission to the HECM will complete the application for Texas A&M University. Students are considered for admission to the HECM as part of the admission process to Texas A&M. Students applying to majors that are offered in College Station and McAllen may indicate McAllen as their preferred location on their application.
