This competitive fellowship is awarded to an incoming, full-time Ph.D. student in the Department of Architecture. The recipient of this fellowship must demonstrate research performance and potential in the comprehensive field of architecture and/or the related disciplines represented in the school.
The award consists of a stipend and tuition at the “in-state” rate and is renewable based on the progress of the student’s research.
Two concurrent graduate student research fellowships per year are provided by this endowment.
Contingent on annual performance reviews, the fellowship recipient receives:
- YEAR 1: Full tuition and fees for fall and spring semesters
- YEAR 2: Full tuition and fees for fall and spring semesters
- YEAR 3: An offer of a graduate assistantship (20 hours per week) for the third academic year (if funds and a position within the department are available)
- YEAR 4: An offer of a graduate assistantship (20 hours per week) for the fourth academic year (if funds and a position within the department are available)

About William Wayne Caudill
This fellowship was created in honor of Bill Caudill, FAIA, a former professor and researcher at Texas A&M University and recipient of the 1985 AIA Gold Medal. The life and work of William Wayne Caudill, FAIA, founder of Caudill Rowlett Scott, Architects, now part of the CRS Sirrine, Inc. were memorialized at Texas A&M University in 1983 by an educational endowment for the William Wayne Caudill Student Research Fellowship.
