Langford A
Home of the School of Architecture
Langford A is home to essential school services including the dean’s office, student services, and the departments of architecture and landscape architecture and urban planning. Buzzing with activity year-round, the building is a home away from home for many students who stay late to work on projects.
Additionally, Langford A houses the MakerPlace, Wright Gallery and Azimuth Café.

Many degree program classes are held in studios, where students produce large-scale projects over a semester’s time, mirroring how they’ll work in an industry environment.
History
The Langford A building was constructed in 1977. The building was designed by former student Jack R. Yardley ‘58 and was built by HKS in Dallas — a firm that was founded by Harwood K. Smith ‘35 a Distinguished Alumnus of the School of Architecture.
