Our History

Established in 1984 as the Center for Health Systems & Technology, the center began as an interdisciplinary research center housed in the College of Medicine. It originally focused on transferring technology developed by other disciplines into healthcare design.

The center was renamed the Center for Health Systems & Design when its administrative home was transferred to the College of Architecture in 1994.
