CHUD’s mission to create sustainable housing and communities involves students from many different disciplines in both research and engagement.

Engaging Students in Research

Undergraduate and graduate students have the opportunity to work as research assistants or field researchers on funded research projects.

Doctoral students working on dissertation research relevant to CHUD’s mission may apply to become a doctoral fellow.

Sustainable Urbanism Certificate

Graduate students pursuing the Sustainable Urbanism Certificate are members of innovative learning and practitioner communities. They investigate and apply collaborative practices to design and plan sustainable urban settlements that are livable, equitable, energy efficient, ecologically sound and prosperous.

Transportation Planning Certificate

Graduate students pursuing the Transportation Planning Certificate receive the education and training needed to address professional challenges in 21st-Century transportation. This certificate prepares students to contribute to public policy, multimodal systems and transportation design.
