Cost to Attend
Your attendance cost is the combination of your tuition, housing, dining, supplies, transportation, student fees and personal expenses. Use the tuition calculator to receive an estimate of what the School of Architecture’s semester tuition might cost. Keep in mind that these resources provide the projected cost of your attendance. Financial aid packages, scholarships, assistantships, fellowships and employment opportunities can defray these expenses.
Financial Aid
The School of Architecture strives to provide financial solutions to students at all income levels. You are highly encouraged to apply for financial aid through the university and external institutions. Read more about the university’s financial assistance and scholarships.
FAFSA
We encourage all students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The university uses your FAFSA to award federal, state and institutional financial assistance based on your financial aid eligibility. Some scholarships, including the university scholarship, require you to complete the FAFSA.

The Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) is for students who are not United States citizens, but who are Texas residents. The TASFA is accessed and completed in the My Finances tab of your Howdy Portal.

University Scholarships
Texas A&M offers numerous university scholarships. We also offer scholarships that are exclusive to students in the School of Architecture, including school scholarships, center scholarships, and department scholarships. Visit our scholarship page for more information.

School Scholarships
The School of Architecture administers scholarships to support academic excellence and promote access to higher education. Students will be considered for School of Architecture scholarships upon completion of the University Scholarship Application for Continuing Students.

Departmental scholarships are only awarded to students who are enrolled in a specific department within the school and are administered by those individual departments.

Center Scholarships
Several of our research centers provide financial support to students through center scholarships. These scholarships are often for students who share research interests with the center.
Student Employment
Financial aid, grants and scholarships are not the only way to pursue an affordable education. We offer employment opportunities that not only fund your education, but develop your academic and professional interests.

Work Study
The FAFSA and TAFSA determine which students are eligible for work study, a form of financial aid that allows students to earn money to help pay educational expenses through on-campus and some off-campus jobs. You can search for jobs that are work study eligible in Jobs for Aggies.

Part-time Jobs

Assistantships
Graduate students may be awarded an assistantship, a paid position that requires students to partake in part-time teaching or research in addition to their studies. If you are interested in acquiring an assistantship, contact your graduate advisor. There are four types of graduate assistantships:

- Research
- Lecturer
- Non-teaching activities
Fellowships
Fellowships are typically stipends given to graduate students to fund their living and educational expenses. Fellows can be nominated by faculty or externally funded.
