2021-2022 Deadlines
The application for scholarships administered by the Center for Heritage Conservation must be filled out completely and submitted by 5:00 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2021.
Papers, proposals, and posters must be submitted in electronic form to the Center for Heritage Conservation office, by 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 14, 2022.
The Center for Heritage Conservation Scholarship (for current students)
This CHC Scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior undergraduate student who is a member of the Preservation and Conservation Student Society (PACSS), or to a current graduate student studying at Texas A&M University. Current graduate students must have an approved course plan for the Certificate in Historic Preservation.
Eligible students must submit the CHC scholarship application and submit a poster illustrating past or current research related to historic preservation or heritage conservation completed as a student at Texas A&M.
The Center for Heritage Conservation Scholarship for current undergraduate and graduate students was established by the Professional Fellows of the Center for Heritage Conservation (CHC) and the CHC Advisory Council, a multi-disciplinary group of faculty and preservation professionals who provide support and guidance to the historic preservation program.
The Center for Heritage Conservation Scholarship (for incoming students)
This CHC scholarship is awarded to an incoming graduate student studying at Texas A&M University who has a demonstrated interest in historic preservation or heritage conservation.
Eligible students must submit the CHC scholarship application and submit a paper outlining past or current research related to historic preservation or heritage conservation.

The Charles E. Peterson Preservation Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student in the School of Architecture pursuing studies and/or a professional career in historic preservation.
The Charles E. Peterson Preservation Scholarship was established by Carrie Zaboroski ’95 and friends of the Center for Heritage Conservation to honor the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) founder Charles E. Peterson.
The TOMFRA/Raiford L. Stripling Memorial Scholarship for Advancement of Preservation
This CHC scholarship is awarded to graduate and undergraduate students who have a demonstrated interest in historic preservation or heritage conservation.
- Graduate students (all departments) must be pursuing the certificate program in historic preservation at Texas A&M University.
- Undergraduate students must be a junior or senior majoring in the School of Architecture with active membership in the Preservation and Conservation Student Society (PACSS).
If a qualified student cannot be identified from the above, the scholarship may be awarded to an incoming graduate student at Texas A&M who has a demonstrated interest in historic preservation or heritage conservation.
Current graduate and undergraduate students must submit the CHC scholarship application and submit a paper on a subject concerning or relating to historic preservation or heritage conservation in the state of Texas. The Stripling Scholar will commit to orally presenting the paper at a TOMFRA annual meeting.
This scholarship is in recognition of the work of Raiford L. Stripling ’31, founding member of TOMFRA, and pioneer in the preservation of Texas’ built heritage.
