Charter school students learn basics of college disciplines
Students at the Brazos School of Inquiry and Creativity, a charter school in Bryan, had a high-tech, hands-on introduction to the basics of several College of Architecture disciplines in four sessions in June.
They used an augmented reality app to build a LEGO structure and created a 3-D model with photogrammetry, a technique to digitally render models from photographs.
The students also learned how cities’ social and economic development is affected by the placement of city resources, the many ways small businesses enhance cities, and more.
The sessions were led by college faculty Deidra Davis, Cecilia Giusti, Robert Warden, and Wei Yan.
The event was part of a continuing collaboration with the Brazos School, the college’s four departments, and Texas Target Communities. It was sponsored by the college and the Texas A&M College of Architecture Diversity Council.
