Select scholarships are available for study abroad and other academic activities.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n\n\n<details class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__summary\">\n\t\t<div class=\"accordion__summary-inner\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"t-heading-6 accordion__heading\">\n\t\t\t\tHow much is each scholarship?\n\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"fal fa-plus accordion__icon\"><\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/summary>\n\n\t<div class=\"accordion__body t-body rte\">\n\t\t<p>The<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> amount of each award varies, but the range is typically between $1,000 and $2,000 for one academic year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to the award amount, international and out-of-state domestic students may be eligible for a <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aggie.tamu.edu\/financial-aid\/types-of-aid\/scholarships\/non-resident-tuition-waiver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">non-resident tuition waiver<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n\n\n<details class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__summary\">\n\t\t<div class=\"accordion__summary-inner\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"t-heading-6 accordion__heading\">\n\t\t\t\tHow do I apply for these scholarships?\n\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"fal fa-plus accordion__icon\"><\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/summary>\n\n\t<div class=\"accordion__body t-body rte\">\n\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are two types of scholarships within the School of Architecture: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">school scholarships <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">department scholarships<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In addition to these scholarships, you\u2019re encouraged to apply for scholarships outside the school through the university or other external funding sources.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Incoming freshmen apply for scholarships in the <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/goapplytexas.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ApplyTexas<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coalitionforcollegeaccess.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Coalition<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> applications. Most school and department scholarships for current students are awarded through the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/uwide.tamu.edu\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>University Scholarship Application for Continuing Students.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students enrolled in the following departments will be considered for all scholarships after submitting the university scholarship application:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Construction Science<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students enrolled in the Department of Architecture should submit the university scholarship <\/span><b>and<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a separate <\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/it-lf-ecmclar.ads.tamu.edu\/Forms\/ARCHScholarshipAppPart1\">Department of Architecture scholarship<\/a><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> application to be considered for both school and department scholarships. No application is necessary for students new to the architecture department.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n\n\n<details class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__summary\">\n\t\t<div class=\"accordion__summary-inner\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"t-heading-6 accordion__heading\">\n\t\t\t\tWho decides whether or not I get a scholarship?\n\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"fal fa-plus accordion__icon\"><\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/summary>\n\n\t<div class=\"accordion__body t-body rte\">\n\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The selection of recipients is determined by several departmental or collaborative school committees. These typically are composed of a chair, professor, or faculty members from their respective departments.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n\n\n<details class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__summary\">\n\t\t<div class=\"accordion__summary-inner\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"t-heading-6 accordion__heading\">\n\t\t\t\tAre assistantships available?\n\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"fal fa-plus accordion__icon\"><\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/summary>\n\n\t<div class=\"accordion__body t-body rte\">\n\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Yes. Graduate students may be hired as teaching, research or non-teaching assistants to defray the cost of tuition. Graduate students wanting to be considered for an assistantship should address a letter of intent to their department head indicating areas of interest. A r\u00e9sum\u00e9 should also be submitted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To satisfy university requirements, individuals must be registered for a minimum of nine credit hours of academic work per semester and six credit hours during the summer. Out-of-state students who are awarded assistantships will qualify for a non-resident tuition exemption only for the semester(s) employed.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n\n\n<details class=\"accordion\">\n\t<summary class=\"accordion__summary\">\n\t\t<div class=\"accordion__summary-inner\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"t-heading-6 accordion__heading\">\n\t\t\t\tAre there any other scholarships within the school?\n\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t<span class=\"fal fa-plus accordion__icon\"><\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/summary>\n\n\t<div class=\"accordion__body t-body rte\">\n\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Several research centers and labs housed within the School of Architecture offer unique scholarships.
